Art Show Summary:

The Loveland Campus and Artworks Loveland host three community art exhibits each year on the Loveland Campus.  The April 2023 exhibit is dedicated to Aims Community College students. We will highlight the amazing talent of our student body and it will provide a learning experience from entering a juried show. We want this to be a fun learning opportunity for students.

We are seeking entries for finished work for 2D and 3D art in the following genres: painting, graphic art, prints and drawings, photography, objects in clay, fiber, textiles, wood, metal, plastic, and other materials, and mixed or conceptual media, including collage.

We are excited to introduce a new category! Digital Art!

We are seeking entries for finished digital art that used digital technologies as a way of presenting/visualizing art. Anything produced or made on digital media, such as animations, photographs, illustrations, and digital paintings. We are not accepting videos this year.

Digital Art Display Options

Print your image, frame it, and prepare it to hang on a slat wall, see the application for details on hanging requirements.

Submit your image for digital viewing, which will be displayed on TV monitors or classroom screens throughout campus.

Art Exhibit Theme:

This year's Exhibit theme is "Share Your Story." Sharing personal stories, whether they are your own or someone else’s story is a terrific and authentic way to connect with others, especially through art. We encourage students to interpret what this theme means to them and incorporate it in their submitted art. Please provide a short paragraph about your work or body of work to give us a better understanding of it.  Here is a link to a guide on how to write artist statements. https://www.agora-gallery.com/advice/blog/2016/07/23/how-to-write-artist-statement/

Awards:

Selected artists’ works will be on display for two months. The exhibit will be judged for Best in Show and Honorable Mention in various genres.  Best in Show will receive a scholarship to Aims Community College valued at up to $350. Honorable Mention awardees will receive gift bags valued at $50.

Exhibit Opening:

The exhibit opens  April 14, 2023, from 5:30 pm - 8 pm at the Aims Community College Loveland Campus, located at 104 East 4th Street.
