Open Educational Resources (OER) were first adopted by UNESCO in 2002 to describe books and materials used to support education that can be freely accessed, reused, modified, and shared in order to improve the quality of curricula and teaching and reduce costs. Come learn about the history and progress of OER. While high quality, FREE textbooks are certainly desirable for students, faculty also can benefit greatly from the freedom OERs provide.

The state of Colorado and Aims supports the development of OER. Find out how you can apply for grant dollars or attain funds from Aims to incorporate OER into your courses. Open Source books and materials increase student equity and truly support Aims mission.
