Have you heard of National Custodian Day? This day of recognition was created in 1985 to acknowledge and appreciate those who make public areas, such as offices, schools, and other facilities safe and clean for everyone. This day is important because it acknowledges those who have contributed to our community by keeping our spaces clean and sanitized, especially during and after COVID.  

The Center for Diversity & Inclusion (CDI) invites all students, staff, and faculty to recognize their hard work and dedication to our community. We will be located in the Student Commons Lobby Area on Monday, October 2nd from 11 am to 1 pm. Thank you cards and a banner will be available to sign to express your appreciation for all their hard work!

Other ways to acknowledge and express appreciation for custodial staff are to: 

• Get to know your custodial Staff- Say Hello!
• Thank them for cleaning our space.
• Do your best to clean up after yourself. 
• Pay attention to the little things. If you see something, consider cleaning up!
