Campus Activities Programming (CAP) is partnering with Zonta Club to bring the Silent Witness Display to campus This campaign features life-size silhouettes of people from Weld County who have been murdered as a result of domestic violence, along with their individual stories. The objective of this campaign is to create awareness and provide education surrounding domestic violence in our community, as well as honor the individuals who lost their lives to violence.

Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another.

Domestic violence is prevalent in every community and affects all people regardless of age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. The devastating consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime. With this campaign, campus and community resources will be posted and available to anyone needing support or who may have questions.

In 2022, Colorado witnessed 94 lives lost due to domestic violence, with 39 victims falling prey to their current or former intimate partners.
