Civic Engagement Council

This group is dedicated to increasing voting, civic learning, and democratic engagement at Aims. This includes but it is not limited to: voter registrationnon-partisan information on elections and ballot measureslearning about your community, how decisions are made and issues related to the communityinformation on the role government plays in everyday lifegrowing awareness/understanding of government and political processesacknowledge that everyone has a voice and valueprovide engagement beyond the electoral processempower students to use their voiceincrease critical thinking, decision-making, collective engagement and responsibilityLast year, the group partnered with the IssueVoter platform to promote civic engagement on campus. It’s a free nonpartisan tool for students, faculty and staff to learn more about political candidates and issues.
